As we age our skin starts to lose the elasticity that keeps it tight and begins to sag. This can make us look prematurely older, more tired and worn out than we really feel. Genetics and lifestyle play a role in accelerating this process in some individuals. Eyelid Lift, also known as Blepharoplasty, is a procedure to rejuvenate the appearance of the eyelids. Eyelid Lift can improve  lower eyelid droopiness, bags, wrinkles, and loose excess skin of the upper and/or lower eyelids. Each patient comes in to our office with their own set of goals and concerns. Dr. Scott Green works with each patient individually to identify and define their goals and concerns. This will help establish the ideal procedure plan that will get each patient to their aesthetic goals. Eyelid Lift can be performed on one or both eyelids, and can be done only on the upper lids, the lower lids or both. Eyelid Lifts may also be paired with other facial rejuvenation procedures such as a Brow Lift, Facelift, Botox or Dermal Fillers.

Following the procedure it will be important to follow Dr. Green’s guidelines for recovery. This is for your safety and to ensure that you heal appropriately. Some bruising, swelling and discomfort is normal after the procedure and should subside in the following days. Vision may be blurred for a few days following the procedure and eye drops and sunglasses may be recommended during recovery. Eyelid Lift can be a wonderful procedure to refresh and rejuvenate the eyelids and bring a more youthful energy to your face. It is also a surgical procedure with risks that need to be considered.
