Your Weight Loss Coach
Stacy is a graduate of the University of Washington’s School of Medicine Medex program, and gained extensive clinical experience in family medicine, dermatology, emergency medicine, psychology, general surgery and bone marrow transplantation at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. She has also worked directly with patients in the areas of orthopedics, hematology and oncology, with an emphasis on breast cancer diagnosis and treatment. Stacy has been with the practice since 2016 and manages the continuum of patient care.

Getting Started with Weight Loss
Your Cornerstone journey begins with a brief exam using the BC4 body composition analyzer that will measure your muscle or lean body mass (LNBM) and basal metabolic rate (BMR). Stacy will review the data to customize a menu plan that will include specific levels for calories and protein. Exercise will also be a key part of your weight loss strategy. You will typically visit the office twice during the first month, and monthly thereafter.
The Cornerstone approach focuses not simply on reducing fat, but also on maintaining muscle. When weight loss involves significant depletion of muscle, the body’s metabolic rate drops. As your body slows down, it uses fewer calories and stores the excess amount as fat. To sustain muscle, the Cornerstone diet is high in protein, and the program includes a range of delicious shakes that can be purchased to add to your menu. The shakes suppress appetite while fortifying the body with vitamins, protein and fiber.
